Ian was born 1976 in Hammersmith, London, England and has lived in
the capital for most of his life.

As a teenager, during a trip to Paris, Ian already felt the 'inner pull'
towards visual arts. He says, that he "Felt lucky to see a path so
early on"
whilst his friends were still undecided about which career to choose.

At the Harrow School of Art he was exposed to the spectrum of creative
arts. Ian concentrated on photography. He went on to the Falmouth
College Of Arts, where he specialised in making painterly-type prints
through the use
of Polaroid manipulation.

Realising that his work was moving away from photography and towards
fine
art, Ian decided to take full control over his own creative process and
start painting again.

After leaving Falmouth Ian started working in film and television, as a
freelance scenic painter, using special techniques taught to him by his
father.
